Hostess Gift Challenge

Hi All,

Last Saturday I attended a SU training day, where Amanda showed us how to make a box of 4 cards.

A challenge was set within out team to make one, and this is what I came up with

If you like what you see and are interested in how it was made......... it's simple.

All you have to do is book a party with me.
I'll demonstrate how quick and easy projects like this can come together, to make lovely gifts.

The new 'Mini' catalogue is launched on the 1st April; the delightful butterfly I've used, is one of the new single stamps you can buy.

Pop back again in the next few days, and I'll show you some 'sneaky peaks' of what's on offer!!

Till the next time,

Brayering

Hi all,

I'd like to thank JO for a fab time on Thursday, it was great to catch up with her again and she showed me how she'd created gorgeous effects using the brayer and only one colour tone. (Click on her name and you can nip over to her blog to have a peak
at the wonderful things she creates).

These were my attempts - some of the flowers and the brayering were all in the same colour, then a few other flowers were added in a darker colour. They're not as good as Jo's - by a long shot, but I enjoyed it so much, I've been experimenting!

I just love watching sunsets - but, I'm not sure whether my attempts are depicting the sun rising, or setting - LOL!! What do you think?
As you can see I started off by introducing a couple of colours...........and then got carried away!!

I just had to use the new birdie punch and gorgeous chocolate ribbon.
Hope you've enjoyed,
Jane x

New Addition

Well Hooray,
the day finally arrived, and we picked up our new car on Friday

For those of you who know me, realise that since the end of November, I haven't been very mobile; and although I'm sorry to see the old one go - it's been great to be out and about in the sunshine this weekend (without worrying about mileage, over heating, or topping up with water every few miles - even the central locking started to fail towards the end!!)

May I say a massive 'Thank You' to all my friends who have constantly ferried me around for the past few months...

Experimenting!

Hi All

Whilst I was sorting out my craft cupboard this week, I came across this set.........'Whimsical Wings' (level 2 hostess set). I'm afraid to admit, I hadn't even used it.

I decided to go bold, and bright - normally I like to stick to earthy colours. I coloured the image using SU markers, and highlighted areas with glue to give a gloss raised effect.

On looking at the flower; I felt it needed a more bolder statement, than the addition of a gold or silver brad.
So I experimented with versa mark and black embossing powder. It only took 4 coats of powder and 2 of versa mark to cover the silver of the brad.

Note to self:-use an old pair of tweezers, as they get a bit gunked up and watch your fingers, metal tweezers get hot you know!!

I liked the effect, and will probably be experimenting again shortly. Give it a go and let me know how you get on.

Quickie Birthday Card!

Hi All,

I'm on a mission today; probably because I feel guilty about spending Saturday at Jenny's and Jo's fabulous stamping extravaganza. It was so fun!!

So far I've:-

  • sorted the washing

  • dishwasher

  • mended a pair of school trousers - otherwise my son may have revealed more of himself than he wished to!

  • defrosted the fridge

  • hoovered through downstairs

and now I'm just going to sort out my craft storage, whilst waiting for the UPs man to arrive - got to find room for it somewhere..LOL!!

Hence it's just a quickie birthday card, made in 5 minutes flat.

The candles are from Queue UP (level 3 hostess set), and words from Whimsical Words (Sale-a-bration set). You can get this free when you place an order over £45 until the end of February.

Must get it in the post.

'Adaptation'

Hi All,

See, I told you I'd been crafting.

Earlier this week, I attended Jenny's 'Love You Much' class and enjoyed it so much - this is what I've come up with.

I've chosen to use 'Pocket Silhouettes' (an old favourite), and 'Flight of the Butterfly'. I enlarged the card pockets to accept my envelopes and the colours were dictated by the 'Sweet Always' DSP .

The folder......

the cards and envelopes......

'Till the next time,
Jane x

PS. Wey Hey!! I'm so excited.............I've just purchased a new battery for my camera. At least, I won't have to wait for 155 items to download from the boys camera - just so I can can retrieve my pics!!

'Bad Blogger' ...........been AWOL!!

Hi All,

I know, I've been a really naughty and not uploaded anything in ages. I plan to put this to rights and organise myself better.

I have been crafting - honest!!

The problem is, I've been working on a load of Birthday projects, so it's been difficult show you the things I've been up to.

I'd like to wish a couple of my 'crafting buddies HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
Pam for today, and Avis for Sunday.

This is a peep-po card, which I'm sure you'll both remember how to make!!
The words slide apart as the card opens revealing the image.

Hope you've both received lots of lovely goodies. xx

This next card, was for the lovely Jenny, a true inspiration to us all. It was such a hard card to make..........trying to think of something different - nothing seems quite right, when it's for someone who is so talented.
