Out of my Comfort Zone!

Hi All,

My favourite colours when I was little - were purple and cerise pink; but now, when I stamp, I generally feel more comfortable using 'earthy' colours.

That was until, I spied this bag of Jenny's and squealed in delight!! I really thought it was a bag from SU.......LOL..........(SU's always on the brain!)

The larger butterflies remind me of the new single stamp in the 'mini' catalogue and I just fell in love with it. Of course, Jenny being Jenny, said I must keep it and she would go back to the shop to get another one!! She is always so kind and generous - I did say I'd use it as inspiration; a sort of 'colour challenge'

What do you think?.........Those pink and purple butterflies are a perfect match to 'Melon Mambo' and 'Rich Razzleberry' (the new colours in October). As I don't have them yet, these are the colours I've chosen for my challenge:
  • Rose Red
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Green Galore
  • Elegant Eggplant

The butterfly I stamped as before (in a previous post), but this time - cut the wings completely off before attaching to the card. I also pearlised the card with 'Champagne' shimmer paint before stamping it. I've added 'Crystal Effects' to give dimension to the body and glass gems (non SU) to the flowers.

Hope you've enjoyed my attempts at being 'bold' - give it a go.
I'd love to see what anyone else comes up with

Stamping Event

Hi All,

Well it's finally come and gone; (a bit like Christmas really, a couple of months preparing, then over in a flash!).............but what a fabulous way to spend yesterday - crafting!!

What more could you want?

Thank you to all the lovely ladies, who joined Val (my up-liner) and I, for a fun day of crafting. I'm sure they didn't realise before they booked, that we have never done anything on this scale before (and that they were our guinea pigs........LOL!!)

This is us in full flow...........

We look so relaxed....and in control!!

We each ran a different project; you'll be able to see more photos of the event here, and Val's project when she's posted it.

This was my project, it's a mini scrapbook; I based it on one done by Jo, using the new 'Vintage Vogue' stamp set and wheel ('Very Vintage'). The colours are Taken with Teal, Rose Red with the addition of black and white........simply scrummy.........I'm so disappointed that teal will no longer be available, once the new catalogue comes out in October.

It has a slider pocket for additional photos. Unfortunately, my printer is playing up at the moment, all the photos are coming out dark and not true to colour.....so they will be added later.

This was the afternoon project; a gift box/bag with 3 cards

The butterfly ('All a Flutter'), and the 'Elegant Thank You' is from the new mini catalogue. These are sold as separate stamps!

For one of the cards, I had already pre-stamped some 'Chocolate Chip' butterflies on 'Whisper White', after first coating the cardstock in 'Frost White' shimmer paint. This was so that there weren't any drying issues on the day..........and a lot less messy..LOL!!

By only cutting out around the body and wings of these butterflies, they could be layering on top of another 'Chocolate Chip' butterfly stamped directly onto the cardstock (therefore 3D'd and no worries about lost antenna!!)

A fabulous time, I'd like to thank:
  • my partner in crime, Val for all her input, organisation and help

  • Jenny and Ann for looking after our catering needs

  • and to all the ladies who came, for without them - it wouldn't have happened!!

So a little Thank You card for you all, using the '2 step bird punch'.

The 'Teal' cardstock has been covered with shimmer paint to make him sparkle.......... it's going to be so simple to turn any cardstock into a shimmering one now with this paint.............but that's for another day!!

Happy crafting,

Jane x

PS. Especially for Pam and her group; I was still on such a high that I was up at 3am this morning planning the next session!!.......... How's that for organisation?

My Sweet Pea

Hi All,

I said I would be back...........This is a take on Jo's desk card organiser, it's using the 'My Sweet Pea' stamp set and matching roller. I made a little scrap paper holder back in September; and this is constructed in exactly the same way

I just think that little bird is just so cute, don't you?
The colours I've used are taken with teal and rose red (I seem to be going through that phase at the moment - can't show you anything else yet or it'll spoil the surprise - ladies you know who you are!!)

These are a selection of cards I made to go in it.........
although some have all ready been sent.........

Hope you've enjoyed,
Happy crafting,

New Mini Catalogue is HERE !!

Hi All,

That's right, the new mini catalogue is up and running, right through until the end of September. So, I've plenty of time to tempt you with some wonderful goodies.

I think my favourite, favourite set, (if you have to pick one - it's so hard to do.....LOL) has to be the 'Vintage Vogue'. This 3" x 3" card I made as a swap for the training day in Reading.

It can also be incorporated with the matching wheel.

These next 3 items were a joint effort - at training we were set a challenge, to come up with a gift for a hostess and a make and take, in 45 mins along with itemizing everything; from a given set of products. It was amazing how all the ideas from each group were so different. (Hi, to all that were there and Happy Easter)

This was our make and take

A card for the hostess.........

and a triangle box (or as i like to call it - a cheese box!!) to give with some added goodies

Perhaps, you now have an idea as to why I love this set so much, it's so versatile!
I'll try and pop back later, with some more teasers.......
'Till then,
Jane x

Hostess Gift Challenge

Hi All,

Last Saturday I attended a SU training day, where Amanda showed us how to make a box of 4 cards.

A challenge was set within out team to make one, and this is what I came up with

If you like what you see and are interested in how it was made......... it's simple.

All you have to do is book a party with me.
I'll demonstrate how quick and easy projects like this can come together, to make lovely gifts.

The new 'Mini' catalogue is launched on the 1st April; the delightful butterfly I've used, is one of the new single stamps you can buy.

Pop back again in the next few days, and I'll show you some 'sneaky peaks' of what's on offer!!

Till the next time,

Brayering

Hi all,

I'd like to thank JO for a fab time on Thursday, it was great to catch up with her again and she showed me how she'd created gorgeous effects using the brayer and only one colour tone. (Click on her name and you can nip over to her blog to have a peak
at the wonderful things she creates).

These were my attempts - some of the flowers and the brayering were all in the same colour, then a few other flowers were added in a darker colour. They're not as good as Jo's - by a long shot, but I enjoyed it so much, I've been experimenting!

I just love watching sunsets - but, I'm not sure whether my attempts are depicting the sun rising, or setting - LOL!! What do you think?
As you can see I started off by introducing a couple of colours...........and then got carried away!!

I just had to use the new birdie punch and gorgeous chocolate ribbon.
Hope you've enjoyed,
Jane x

New Addition

Well Hooray,
the day finally arrived, and we picked up our new car on Friday

For those of you who know me, realise that since the end of November, I haven't been very mobile; and although I'm sorry to see the old one go - it's been great to be out and about in the sunshine this weekend (without worrying about mileage, over heating, or topping up with water every few miles - even the central locking started to fail towards the end!!)

May I say a massive 'Thank You' to all my friends who have constantly ferried me around for the past few months...
