'Wetlands'

Hi All,

I'm so glad I bought this set...........I LOVE IT!
There are various cards on the web, that I've seen to get  ideas.

The 1st one is brayered, the next is just plain with embossed sentiments and the one below, adding colour using a waterbrush on whisper white cardstock. All images have been stamped in black Stazon.

I think these 9.5cm square cards, make perfect little notelets and are so quick to produce. I've daubed the colours before adding accents with either markers or a white gel pen.

So many possibilities...........as you see I just can't leave this set alone ; )

Thanks for looking, happy crafting

Summer!

Hi All,

Isn't it hot!
My husband said I shouldn't moan, but..........as I told him..........if I'm cold, I can add more layers, but when it's as hot as this.........it would be indecent if I took anymore off! He agreed : )
Anyway, I thought this picture would 'speak' Summer. They are delicious, it was definitely worth netting the tree to stop those pesky blackbirds enjoying them, yum yum!

I have been crafting, here are a few cards I made using the 'Serene Silhouettes' set.  They each use a different technique; there's daubing, straight stamping, colouring with pens...........

.......embossing and brayering. The colours are Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and the retired Lucky Limeade and Baja Breeze

Above the oval has been pierced and below I used a marker pen through the holes in the piercing template

Thanks for looking,

Make 'n' Take

Hi All,

Here's quick and simple card idea, it's using 2 of the colours which won't be available after the end of June, Baja Breeze and Pretty in Pink.
The background stamp is from Creative Elements and the sentiment is a single stamp called Beautiful Birthday. I've pricked holes for added interest and then...........

........the card is quickly finished by fraying some seam binding ribbon, adding butterflies and pearls.

Anniversary Card

Hi All,

It was my Wedding Anniversary yesterday, and did I get whisked off for a wonderful day out, a lovely meal, lavished with chocolates or flowers...........

..............No!

Even the sun was shinning, birds were singing and it was lovely and warm; so what did I get upto.......standing on the bottom of the ladder so he could finish painting the outside of the house!

I wish I'd taken a photos, but here's the ones of the card I made him instead.
I've mounted some of the hearts on acetate to add extra dimension

Hope you've enjoyed, thanks for dropping by

Change of Colour

Hi All,

Thought I'd share with you another card I've made, it's the same layout as the previous one, but in a different colour. I just love the depth of the Concord Crush, don't you? It'll be a sad day when this colour retires at the end of June : (

Whilst surfing the web (sorry can't remember who it was), I've come across a clever little box using the base of the Pop n' Cuts die. The slots make a neat closure...........

......and to open, you simply just pull on the ribbon

I love the simplicity and can see I'll be making loads of these to house little gifts for my friends

Simple Card & Gift

Hi All,

I've finally got around to photographing some of the projects I've been making.
Here is a simple A5 card using the Oval Framelitis and Fun Flowers die. The main colours are Pacific Point, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight.
For the gift............I've tried to make it look like a book. The concertinaed sides allow it to have the height to incorporate 2 bars of chocolate.............it's great, the men in my household don't think crafting is cool........so my chocolate is safe!!

'Spot' anything New?

Hi All,

I've been playing around with some of the 'New' products available in the Autumn/Winter Seasonal Catalogue. I'm sure you've all seen lots of various things made with the 'Perfectly Preserved' stamp set and framelits............I of course, have a different way of thinking (I know my friends always say so......mad is also mentioned, normally in the same sentence!)

The Ladybug is a die (not SU), but can easily be made with circle punches. I have stamped the jar in Stazon on acetate, and the sentiment is from 'Hopeful Thoughts'. Have you spotted the 'new' embossing folder? I know this is going to become a favourite of mine

Thanks for looking,

Training Swap

Hi All,

I went to Reading last weekend for a training session and this is a tag I made as a swap. It's using the Creative Elements stamp set

I wasn't sure about this set..........but I'm loving it right now......also, I wasn't a fan of tearing the cardstock before, but the end result has grown on me. What do you think?

Sorry for not posting, things have been so hectic around here since coming back from holiday.
Not only because SU has launched it's retired list and Seasonal Catalogue, but home life too.

I've finally got a new cooker..........yippee, no more camp food!..........but, the washing machine's now died; so I'm hastily trying to dry the carpet out before a new one arrives tomorrow..........(it's a close competition for third place.......fridge v tumble drier........I wonder which will win!)

Hubbie's taken on the school run this morning and is out all day, so I'm hoping to sneak in some crafting ; )
Must dash and get the chores done first!

Punched Flowers

Hi All,

It's been a hectic month..........time's flown by!
My back's not been brilliant lately; so when it allows, I'm doing crafty bits and pieces. I just love the various flower dies for the 'Big Shot'..........don't you?
I've just realised I haven't shown you a project I made last year!
It's based on a picture from the main SU catalogue. Hubby made a simple wooden frame which we covered in hessian before attaching the various flowers; altering their looks by using several different types of brads and buttons for their centres. It now hangs on the wall in my dinning room above my work space.

Here's a card I made last week..........very plain and simple.........you can just about see the embossed lines made using the score board

................and lastly,
........the 'Statement of the Heart'........

...........in which I hope I live up to...............I'll have to ask my 'Buddies'; who are coming round tomorrow (don't worry, I have made room for you round my table!!)

I cut a piece of mount board into a heart shape, before adding the decorative floral  edge

Hope you've enjoyed dropping by...............Happy Crafting!

Same Set - Altered

Hi All,

I don't know about you..............but sometimes, I find it hard to think of making the most from a stamp set.
so I chose 'Love and Sympathy' as an example

First using it in a classic style; with River Rock, Always Artichoke and Very Vanilla. I stamped the front sentiment with a slight shadow in the lighter colour to help give more depth (sorry the photo isn't showing this)

Next, I used the same flower but added Cherry Cobbler as extra colour. The flower image was created by using the marker pens to ink up the stamp. It's still stamped onto Very Vanilla card stock, but I brayered So Saffron around the image to soften the edges

Then layered it onto only a small piece of Artichoke in one corner, adding ribbon and brads.

A totally different feel, don't you think?

Flower Punches

Hi All,

This card was made for a friend to give to her Mum; using the 'Big Shot' and several punches.
The chosen colour combo was Concord Crush, Whisper White and Daffodil Delight with leaves in Old Olive.

I used the Framelits Die to cut out an aperture on the front of the card, so that the silver embossed sentiment could show through............simple but effective, don't you think?

Thanks for dropping by, happy crafting

'Happy Birthday' Kathey

Hi All,

Sorry I've been missing.........firstly my computer broke.......then my FIL decided to fly out of the back door a couple of weeks ago and badly fractured his humerus/ shoulder joint.........so not a lot of crafting has taken place!

Anyway.......today is my friends birthday and this is the card I made her. There's not a lot of stamping, but as you see I've been playing with my 'Big Shot' and punches.

Thanks for looking,

The Day of Balloons!

 Hi All,

WOW...........what's happened to the weather this week!

I've got a couple of quick cards to show you, before I head back out to the garden.
It's using the 'Pedal Presents' stamp set (a hostess set from the summer mini)

I just love it..........you can alter the image so easily by just adding an item, here and there, to your hearts
content; my stamp-a-ma-jig has come in really handy.

I know that was quick..........but thought you'd like to see what else we've been upto today.............can you guess?

Thanks Susan,  those water slings you gave them for Christmas have really come into there own........(good for the stomach muscles). You can see I was the target!!

I apologise to our neighbours that back onto us and anyone passing by..........they can reach great heights; even over the house!!
Of course boys will be BOYS.........however 'big' they are and they decided that if 2 people held the foot straps up high they could put even more tension on it!!
Sorry about the blurred picture only I was trying to move out of the way as the balloon was showering us from up high..........I just love the look on Robert's face...........so much effort...........(he won't be happy if he knows I've blogged this one.......oh well he's embarrassed me enough in the past - time to get my own back!)

It's all too much for the old one though!

The garden is a calling..........thank you for dropping in
